"The tarot card. Mayan numbers for the year 1818 and the letters MC, standing for Matthew Clydesdale, are on the noose. Matthew was hung in the year 1818. The binary is dates related to the events leading up to this(http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/aberdeen/case-of-dead-man-waking-1.264415).

27/08/1818 : Alexander Love assaulted by Matthew Clydesdale

30/08/1818: Alexander Love dies of his injuries

03/10/1818: Matthew Clydesdale sentenced to hang for murder

04/11/1818: Matthew Clydesdale hanged and his body given to James Jeffray, Professor of Anatomy at Glasgow University, for dissection. The body ends up being experimented upon by Andrew Ure using a galvanic battery."

Now for the ?how piece which I believe I have solved (finally!!!!!!!!!...??).

Idem is Mide. "Midé (Great Medicine) is the native religion of the Chippewa" The Chippewa is a Native American Tribe. Also, the company you refer to is this one -- http://www.mide.com/index.php -- and they are tech. oriented, having formed in 1989.

How for the initiation into the Mide religion --

"The initiation, done at meetings of the Midéwiwin in the spring, is a process of cleansing the spirit. The cleansing is accomplished with the mi'gis, a small white shell that serves as the emblem of Midé. For the white shell appears on the surface of the water whenever a manido , or spirit, causes the water to move. In the initiation ceremony, the mi'gis is pushed beneath the skin where it removes evil; the initiate then removes the mi'gis, usually through the mouth, from his or her body. If the mi'gis were to remain within the body, it would pollute the body with the evil it has absorbed. Once initiated, the member of Midéwiwin society moves up the ranks after receiving special instructions; each member is required to attend at least one Midé meeting each year in order to renew their spiritual power."

So, the mi'gis is a critical piece. However in my eyes this seems to have little connection to Matthew and the others so I have more to add.

How in regards to Mide healing practices --

"The dja'sakid cures his patients by shaking his rattle, passing his hands over the the patient's body, and by swallowing several bones which he then uses to determine where the disease is located."

And that is how a man was cured of his illness. Some connection I can see since it refers to saving lives as Andrew hoped to do when he tried to bring back Matthew.

I have also found this site -- http://faculty.marianopolis.edu/c.belanger/quebechistory/encyclopedia/NanabozhoIndianstoryofthecreation.htm -- which also mentions the initiation ceremony, and amusingly it tells of their creation story, in which the chief god is the Great Hare! Are the two of you friends? I mean technically you're a rabbit, but I'm sure the two of you would get along well despite that minor difference. Slight digression there, but so be it.
